Help audiences understand stories or concepts better
Commonly used in ads, title sequences, and explainer videos
Features:
Focus on typography and layout
Often include background music and voiceovers
Visually simple, content-focused
Examples:
Psycho title sequence: a classic mix of sound, graphics, and movement
True Detective opening: visuals reflect character psychology with minimal typography
Frequently used in public awareness or tech explainer videos
week3
Lecture:
Composition is how visual elements (like line, shape, color, and space) are arranged in an artwork.
Key Principles:
Unity: All parts should feel like they belong together, creating harmony.
Variety: Adds interest by using different or contrasting elements.
Balance: Makes the artwork feel stable—symmetrical is calm, asymmetrical is dynamic.
Movement: Guides the viewer’s eye through the artwork, like flowing lines or figure direction.
Rhythm: Like music, it creates a visual beat or flow across the piece.
Focus (Emphasis): The main point the viewer’s eye is drawn to—important for clarity.
Contrast: Strong differences (light vs. dark, big vs. small) create impact and mood.
