INSTRUCTIONS

Final Project

Our group project revolved around the FLIP research theme, with the goal of conveying information to the target audience through basic video animation. With the help of a structured design framework, we focused on one of the following three goals:

  • Raise awareness
  • Explain the process
  • Define the concept

Under the guidance of Mr. Shamsul, we formed a team of 8 people:

  • Rachel Yeo Rong Qing
  • Jia Wen Bing
  • Ruthlene Chua Zhen Si
  • Liu Zi Yu
  • Tan Jie Ying
  • Isabel Tan Xen Wern
  • Nadhrah Binti Abdul Razak
  • Myra Elida Binti Abd Azis

Topic Selection and Research

Initially, we explored several possible topics, including cybersecurity, women's safety, recycling, traffic safety, etc. After a team vote and combined with Mr. Shamsul's feedback, we finally chose cybersecurity as the project topic.

After deciding on the topic, we began to conduct in-depth research to provide solid content support for the FLIP presentation slides.

To effectively capture the audience's attention, we decided to begin the video with a compelling scene depicting individuals falling victim to a scam. This engaging introduction sets the stage for our main content, which will provide valuable insights on cybersecurity. To ensure a well-structured narrative and smooth visual flow, we developed a detailed storyboard outlining the key moments of the opening scene.

make our progress more effectively, I decide to established our roles into four :
  • Scriptwriter X1 (Myra)
  • Voiceover  X2 (Tan Jie Ying, Nadhrah)
  • Background music and SFX finder X1 (Isabel)
  • Animator X4 (Rachel, Jia Wenbing, Liu Ziyu, Ruthlene)
  • Once the script, voiceover has been done, we start to create the animation.

I have created the animation frame by frame using Procreate according to the storyboard shown above. In addition to this, I also helped create some assets that needed to be used in the information part of the video. Once finished, I sent all of this to my team member and she started editing.

REFLECTIONS

This final project pushed me to refine my ability to present information in a clear and engaging way. At first, I found it challenging to organize complex content without overwhelming the design. My initial drafts lacked clarity, but through feedback, I learned to emphasize key points and structure visuals more effectively. Accessibility also became a major focus—I adjusted colors, typography, and layout to ensure better readability for a wider audience. Managing time efficiently was another hurdle, but breaking tasks into smaller steps helped me stay on track. This process reinforced the importance of iteration, problem-solving, and adaptability. Looking ahead, I’m eager to apply these insights to future design projects.
