INSTRUCTIONS
Week 10:
The teacher taught us how to create video timeline animation and content-aware fill function in Photoshop. He first showed us how to do it using the characters in the image instead of using the transform tool in the video timeline, and then asked us to create a few transform points to animate some actions for the characters in the image. After that, the teacher asked us to do 3 animation exercises by ourselves.
Week 11:
The teacher taught us how to use Adobe After Effects to create animated videos, and then introduced and showed us tools such as position free transformation, blur effect motion, and 3D view. We first followed the teacher's tutorial steps to create an animated composite video, and finally we were responsible for producing our own animated video.
Practical operation
Week 10:
This week we mainly used the Photoshop video timeline and made several animations, "BoySurfing"and"Girl Floating in the Air".
boy surfing
The teacher gave us an image of a boy surfing. Our goal is to make him move against the waves. The following are the steps required to complete this animation:
- Select the boy with the Quick Selection Tool and copy it to the production layer
- Select Content-Aware Fill to fill the background. If you encounter a background that needs cleaning, use the Punch Tool.
- Before entering the video timeline animation, you must first make the background layer and the cropped boy layer into smart layers.
- Use the transformation function to make the boy's movements smaller and make the boy flow counterclockwise.
girl floating in the sky
One of the images given by the teacher is of a girl floating in the air. Our goal is to make her rise higher into the sky. Here are the steps required to complete this animation:
- Select the girl with the Quick Selection Tool and copy it to the production layer
- Select Content-Aware Fill to fill the background. If you encounter a background that needs cleaning, you will need to use the punch tool.
- Make the background layer and cropped girl layer into smart layers before entering the video timeline animation
- Use the transformation function to make the girl's image smaller and her movement trajectory is to float into the sky.
Class Exercises for Week 11:
- Working together on an animated video using Adobe After Effects, we created a total of 2 animated videos - the first was a composite animation and the second was an animation of the flower girl's face.
- composite animation
- The teacher gave us a vector diagram and asked us to change their positions and create animations. The following are my steps:
- I started with a video flimmaker vector for the background and created a total of 4 main anchor points - as it dropped vertically and bounced back.
- First I vectored the shark and created a total of 4 anchor points - it will come in from the bottom right and then move to the middle
- I then vectored the typesetter and created a total of 5 anchor points - it will go in from the top and then bounce back
- In the end, I brought the fencer together to create a total of 6 anchor points - it moved from the right first, then jiggled up and down, and finally back to the middle.
(But I didn’t bring a computer to that class, so my works were in the computer room of the classroom and couldn’t be displayed, including my flower girl face.)
